The process is as simple as this:
- Soak malted barley in hot water to extract fermentable sugars
- Boil the wort from step 1 adding hops to add flavor
- Cool the wort
- Add yeast
- Yeast ferments the sugars creating ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide
- When fermentation completes, bottle or keg the beer
That’s really all there is to it.
The fun comes in creating something exciting. And in increasing your knowledge to make even better, more interesting beer.
